Top 10 Surprising Cooking Hacks You Should Know


Cooking is hard enough, but there are a lot of kitchen hacks that can help make that easier. We all are sometimes lazy to cook, or we do not have time enough to spend more than 2 hours in the kitchen because we work so hard and we all live fast life. Because of that, we have 10 cooking hacks for you that will help you prepare the food faster.


1. Use two plates to safely cut a lot of little tomatoes at once                                              

Do you feel bored when you have to cut a lot of tomatoes, one by one? Oh, yes! Here is the easiest way to do that! Lay the tomatoes you wish to slice in half on a small plate. Place another plate on top and then run a very sharp knife through the gap between the two plates, holding the top plate securely with your other hand.

2. Use a hot knife to slice cake perfectly
                                     

Run your knife underneath the hot water from the tap, dry it off with a towel, and then cut your cake. You may need to re-heat the knife a couple times throughout the process but it works like a charm, especially on thick, rich cakes.
3. Serve ice cream with a knife, not a scoop

Dip the closed ice cream container into a large bowl of hot water from the tap for 15-30 seconds, remove the lid, and invert onto a large platter or wood cutting board, then slice the servings with a hot knife.

6. Perfectly Cut a Watermelon
Cut lines that are parallel with the angle of the back cut of the wedge. Cut lines on the other side that are parallel with the angle of the front cut of the wedge. Cut vertical lines down the wedge to the rind. Cut along the rind of the watermelon. At the end, dump out the watermelon cut into cubes.




7. Dice a mango quickly by keeping it on the skin instead of peeling it first

Slice off the sides of the fruit, cut the flesh of the mango into a grid right in the skin, first vertical, than horizontal. Then flip it inside out and slice everything off the skin.




8. Grill Your Fish on a Bed of Lemons
Just slice the lemons and place them on the surface to be cooked.  If you are grilling, put them on the grill bars.  If you are baking, put them on the baking sheet.  In our case, we had one large piece of salmon, so we wanted to place all the lemons close together to ensure even cooking.  If you have portions, just place two lemon slices under each piece. You will cook at the same temperature as usual.

 

9. Make mini taco bowls using an upside-down cupcake tinIf you have a muffin tin and tortillas, mini taco bowls are just a few steps away! Just flip the muffin tin over, shape your bowls with a tortilla, and bake.
